Presented by the Washington Chapter of the APDA and the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation.

The 2008 Conference features national and local experts presenting the latest insights on living well with Parkinson's disease. The symposium includes sessions on medical management, the role of exercise, brain health and technology, and empowerment, focusing on practical tools that patients and caregivers can use to enhance their quality of life.

Confirmed speakers for the HOPE conference are:

  • Keynote speaker: Dave Iverson, Producer of the upcoming PBS/Frontline documentary, "A Report on Parkinson Disease"
  • Jeff Shaw, Psy.D of the Booth Gardner Parkinson's Care Center, "Playing to Keep Your Brain Working."
  • Laurence Elmer, MD, Director of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Program, University of Toledo, OH presents "The NEXT Revolution in Parkinson Therapy."
  • Becky Farley, PhD, PT and Cynthia Fox, PhD, CCC-SLP of the University of Arizona, "Big and Loud."
  • Julie Sacks, Director, APDA National Young Onset Center speaks on making connections within your community.
  • Sheryl Jedlinski and Jean Burns, PDPlan4Life present on living well with Parkinson's disease.

Tickets are $25.00 and include a continental breakfast and lunch.
